Advancing Egypt’s Medical Tourism: GHA Visits to Leading Hospitals with HCIG

Cairo, Egypt - Healthcare International Group (HCIG) was honored to host Bonnie Zdraveva, RN, Regional Accreditation Lead at Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA), during her recent visit to Egypt. Together, we engaged with some of Cairo’s most respected healthcare institutions to advance the country’s position as a world-class destination for medical tourism.

As GHA’s official partner in Egypt, HCIG is committed to supporting healthcare providers on their journey to global accreditation. Our shared goal is clear: to help Egypt’s hospitals deliver exceptional care that meets international expectations, builds patient trust, and strengthens the nation’s appeal to international patients..

During the visit, HCIG and GHA met with leadership teams at three of Cairo’s premier hospitals: Al Salam International, Dar Al Fouad, and Saudi German Hospital. These engagements focused on introducing GHA’s internationally recognized standards and outlining the steps hospitals can take to enhance the experience of international patients. Discussions centered on designing patient journeys that are intuitive, safe, and culturally competent, aligning services with the expectations of foreign patients and international insurers, and building sustainable systems to maintain high-quality, globally benchmarked care. These conversations underscored Egypt’s readiness to elevate its healthcare offering to meet the growing demand from medical travelers worldwide.

Another highlight of the visit was the opportunity to tour the Children’s Cancer Hospital Foundation 57357 in Cairo. HCIG and GHA were warmly welcomed by Dr. Sherif Abouelnaga, Co-Founder and CEO of the hospital. Globally renowned for its excellence in pediatric oncology, 57357 is taking inspiring steps to expand its services to adult patients and participate more actively in medical tourism. We were deeply impressed by the hospital’s cutting-edge systems, state-of-the-art facilities, integration of AI to improve diagnostics and patient care, and its strong culture of innovation and commitment to continuous improvement. During our discussions, we introduced the GHA accreditation framework, exploring how 57357 can further align with global standards to enhance trust, attract more international patients, and support Egypt’s broader medical tourism strategy.
