Dr. Ahmed Safwat

Dr. Ahmed Safwat is a distinguished international expert in clinical governance, healthcare accreditation, and quality management. With over two decades of experience, he has played a pivotal role in shaping national and organizational healthcare systems across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Currently, Dr. Safwat serves as Chairman of the Accreditation and Quality Committee of the American Urgent Care Association for MENA and Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee of the African Society for Healthcare and Medicine. He is also the Chairman of The National Egyptian Green Award in Pharmacy Practice (EGAPP), Board Member of HCI Group of Companies, and Board Member of the Egyptian Council for Patient Advocates. In addition, he is a faculty instructor at the American University in Cairo, where he contributes to academic programs in healthcare quality and Operational Excellence.

His previous leadership roles include serving as Chairman of the Supreme National Committee for Developing Healthcare Standards in Egypt, Chairman of the National Committee for Developing the Comprehensive Egyptian Framework for Telemedicine, and Member of the National Committee for Clinical Practice Governance. He was also a Board Member of the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR) in Egypt and an Advisor to the National Medical Excellence and Clinical Governance Program in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Safwat expertise spans clinical governance, healthcare accreditation, strategic planning, and policy development. His extensive contributions have influenced national healthcare policies, digital health transformation, and quality improvement initiatives, making him a recognized leader in advancing healthcare excellence across the region.
